Amare TikTok Shop Field Guide

Welcome to TikTok Shop

If you've heard about TikTok Shop but haven't jumped in yet, this guide is for you. You don't need to be a content creator or a tech genius. You just need to understand how the platform works and what it takes to sell on it the right way.

TikTok Shop is one of the fastest-growing sales channels in e-commerce. People discover products through short videos and livestreams, tap a link, and buy without ever leaving the app. For creators promoting products they believe in, that's a massive opportunity.

This guide will walk you through everything you need to get started: setting up your account, joining the Amare program on TikTok Shop, ideas for creating content that actually converts, understanding the rules that keep you protected, and building a sustainable presence on the platform.

Overview of the Process:

TikTok Shop has a built-in system that connects Brand Partners to brand storefronts. You'll need to have a minimum of 5K followers on TikTok before being able to participate in this program. Once you hit that threshold, you can apply and be approved by Amare so you can add their products to your content.

Here are the steps to get started:

  1. Apply as a TikTok Shop Creator

Note: You must have at least 5,000 followers.

Go to TikTok → Profile → Menu (☰) → TikTok Studio → Monetization / TikTok Shop for Creator. Apply and submit your application.

  1. Add Your TikTok Handle & Accept the Amare TikTok Terms & Conditions

Go to: My Account → Social Media, Enter your TikTok handle (ex: @yourhandle).

This ensures your sales are properly attributed to you. You will also get a pop-up at this point to accept the T&Cs to participate in TikTok Shop.

  1. Wait for Your Invitation

You will receive an invite to join the Amare TikTok Shop. Please allow 2-3 days to receive the invitation.

  1. Accept Your Invite & Add Products to Your Showcase

Once accepted, you can start tagging and selling products.

Now, the fun begins! By sharing content and tagging Amare products, you are able to earn commissions through TikTok Shop, and sales will tie to your Amare back office to count towards rank and personal/commissionable volume.

  • Step-by-step account setup and how to join the TikTok Shop program
  • Content basics: what to post and how to post it
  • Live selling fundamentals

  • Tips for building an audience that actually buys

Section 1: Understanding TikTok Shop

What Is TikTok Shop?

TikTok Shop is a built-in shopping feature inside the TikTok app. It lets creators and business owners sell products directly through:

  • In-Feed Videos: Short-form videos with a shoppable product link
  • LIVE Shopping: Real-time video broadcasts where you can sell live and interact with viewers
  • Product Showcase: A dedicated shopping destination on your profile
  • Shop Tab: A simple storefront where customers can browse and buy

The big difference from other platforms? Buyers never leave TikTok. The checkout happens right in the app, which dramatically reduces drop-off and increases impulse purchases.

Why TikTok Shop Works for Amare Brand Partners

Our business is built on relationships and genuine recommendations. TikTok is built on exactly that. The platform rewards authentic, real-person content over polished advertising, which is a natural fit for how great Brand Partners and creators already operate.

Traditional Digital Marketing TikTok Shop
Link in bio or swipe-up with limited visibility 1 to many reach — one video seen by thousands
Static posts and written reviews Short video product demonstrations
Instagram or YouTube livestreams LIVE shopping events with built-in checkout
External link that takes viewers off-platform Shoppable video with embedded checkout
Reliant on existing follower base Algorithm-driven discovery to new audiences

The Bottom Line

TikTok Shop doesn't change what makes great Brand Partners effective — it amplifies it. You're still the authentic voice people trust. The platform just puts that voice in front of far more people, with a buy button attached.

Section 2: Getting Started as an Amare Brand Partner on TikTok Shop

Good news: you don't need to set up your own store or manage any products. Amare already has an established TikTok Shop. Your job is to join the program, grab your unique product links, and start creating content that drives people to buy.

Here's how the model works: when someone watches your video, taps the product link, and completes a purchase you earn a 20% commission (paid by TikTok directly) and receive personal/commissionable volume to count towards your rank that comes from Amare. The order counts as a personal order and treated as if it had been paid via the First Order Bonus. No inventory, no shipping, no customer service. Just content and commissions.

Step 1 — Set Up Your TikTok Account

If you don't already have a TikTok account, start here. If you do, skip to Step 2.

  1. Download the TikTok app and create an account, or log into your existing one
  2. Go to Settings > Manage Account > Switch to Business Account
  3. Select a relevant category (Creator, Health & Wellness, or Retail)
  4. Complete your profile: clear photo, a short bio, and a call-to-action pointing to your shop links

Profile Bio Tips

  • Keep it short — one sentence about who you are and what you share
  • Don't put income claims or product health claims in your bio (more on this in Section 5)
  • Something like: 'Sharing products I actually use. Shop my favorites below.' works great
  • Use your real name — people buy from people, not handles

Step 2— Getting to 5,000 Followers

Your next step is to build up your channel to 5k followers. Once you reach this threshold, you are able to apply to sell through the Amare TikTok Shop. Focus on content that will build engagement, connection, and community.

Step 3 — Apply to the Amare Tik Tok Shop Program

Once you’ve hit 5K followers, you can apply to the Amare program in TikTok Shop.

*Please note, the ability to become a TikTok Creator and sell through TikTok Shop is 100% up to TikTok. You may have 5,000 followers, and they may still not allow you to sell. Make sure you do not sign up as a seller.

Step 4 — Add Products to Your Videos

Once you're in the program, adding products to your content is straight forward:

  1. When creating a video, tap the product link icon before posting
  2. Search for and select the Amare product(s) you're featuring
  3. The product appears as a clickable link on your video — viewers tap it to go directly to the shop
  4. For LIVE sessions, pin products to the screen using the Product Showcase panel
Where Your Link Can Appear How Viewers Use It
In-feed video — orange shopping bag icon Tap the icon while watching to view and buy the product
LIVE session — pinned product card at bottom of screen Tap the card at any point during the live to purchase
Your profile's product showcase tab Browse and buy directly from your profile page

Step 5 — Track Your Commissions in TikTok Shop

You can see your earnings in real time through the TikTok Shop Creator Center:

  • Go to Profile > Creator tools > TikTok Shop for Creator > Earnings
  • You'll see clicks, orders, and commission earned broken out by product and video
  • TikTok commissions are paid approximately 30 days after the sale, once the return period has passed. Amare commissions (based on CV) are paid according to the standard Amare commission schedule.
  • Only completed, non-refunded orders count toward your commission
  • TikTok Shop orders will appear in your Amare Back Office order history like regular orders, labeled as TikTok orders, and will include associated PV/CV toward your reports and qualifications.

One Thing to Know About Attribution

TikTok Shop tracks purchases through your unique link. If a viewer taps your link but buys later in the same session, the sale is still credited to you. If they leave and come back later through a different link, it may not be. This is why a strong call-to-action in every video matters. Get them to tap and buy while they're watching.

Section 3: Creating Content That Converts

The #1 Rule: Educate First, Sell Second

The biggest mistake new TikTok Shop sellers make is going straight for the pitch. TikTok's algorithm, and its users, reward content that delivers genuine value. Think of yourself as a helpful friend, not a salesperson.

The content that works best on TikTok Shop usually follows one of these formats:

  • Authentic Use: Show yourself using the product in real life: morning routine, workout, daily ritual
  • Education: Answer a common question your customers have: 'How do I know if X is right for me?'
  • Personal Story: Share your honest experience: what changed for you, what you noticed, how you feel
  • Tutorial/How-To: Walk through how something works step-by-step
  • Unboxing: Film yourself unboxing or trying something for the first time

Anatomy of a Winning Video

Part What to Do
Hook (0–3 sec) Say or show something that stops the scroll. Ask a question, share a bold result, or start mid-action.
Context (3–8 sec) Quickly establish who you are and why this is relevant to the viewer.
Value (8–25 sec) Deliver the education, story, or demonstration. This is the meat.
Product Moment (25–35 sec) Naturally tie in the product. Show it, mention it — don't force it.
Call to Action (final 5 sec) Tell viewers exactly what to do: 'Link in bio,' 'Shop below,' 'Comment for more.'

Posting Frequency & Timing

Consistency matters more than perfection. Here's a simple starting framework:

  • Aim for 3–5 posts per week to start, quality over quantity
  • Post when your audience is most active: typically early morning (6–9am) or evening (7–10pm) in your time zone
  • Use TikTok Analytics (available once you hit 100 followers) to find your best times
  • Batch-create content when you can, meaning film multiple videos in one session

Hashtags, Sounds, and the Algorithm

  • Use 3 relevant hashtags with a mix of broad (#wellness) and niche (#[productcategory]) tags
  • Use trending sounds when they fit naturally, but don't force it
  • Reply to comments with video responses. It extends your video's life and reach
  • Engage with other creators in your niche. The algorithm notices.

What NOT to Do

  • Do not post the exact same video repeatedly
  • Do not buy followers or engagement. It will tank your reach
  • Do not repost content from Instagram or Facebook with watermarks visible
  • Do not post only promotional content, mix in education and personality
  • Do not make product claims beyond what is in the approved materials we have provided

Section 4: Live Selling on TikTok Shop

Why Go LIVE?

TikTok LIVE is where many sellers see their biggest sales days. Live sessions get preferential placement in the algorithm, allow real-time interaction, and create urgency that short videos can't match. You don't need a studio. All you need is a ring light, a clean background, and confidence.

Before Your First LIVE

  1. You need at least 5,000 followers to go LIVE on TikTok
  2. Plan a simple agenda: intro, product demo, Q&A, wrap-up
  3. Prepare approved talking points for each product you'll feature
  4. Test your setup: lighting, audio, internet connection, and camera angle
  5. Promote your LIVE ahead of time with a pre-announcement video

During Your LIVE

  • Welcome viewers by name when they join, it builds community immediately
  • Pin your top product to the screen using the Product Showcase feature
  • Repeat your call-to-action every 5–7 minutes for new viewers who just joined
  • Answer questions openly and honestly, don't guess on product claims
  • Keep energy up, longer streams (45–90 min) tend to outperform short ones

Live Selling Compliance Reminder

Live sessions are recorded. Everything you say about products and earnings during a LIVE is subject to the same rules as written content. Never make unscripted health claims or income projections in a live environment.

After Your LIVE

  • Save and repurpose clips from your LIVE as short-form content
  • Follow up with viewers who commented or asked questions
  • Review your analytics: watch time, peak viewers, products clicked
  • Note what topics got the most engagement and plan your next LIVE accordingly

Section 5: Compliance Best Practice — What You Must Know

This section is not optional reading. Compliance protects you, our company, and your customers. Violations can result in content removal, account suspension, or legal liability. Read this carefully.

5.1 — Income & Earnings Claims

This is one of the most important compliance areas for Brand Partners, and one of the most commonly violated on social media.

The Rule

You may NOT make specific income claims, income projections, or lifestyle implications that suggest earning commissions as a creator is typical or guaranteed. This includes both written captions and spoken statements in videos and LIVE sessions. Additionally, TikTok does not want you directing people off the platform by sending them links or directing them to direct messages where recruitment language is used. It is strictly prohibited.

Best Practice

Avoid income claims altogether. Focus on your experience with the products and the lifestyle, do not mention the business opportunity.

5.1b — TikTok's MLM & Recruitment Policy

This one catches a lot of creators off guard: TikTok explicitly bans content that promotes multi-level marketing. The platform's enforcement isn't perfect, but violations can result in content removal, account strikes, or permanent suspension with no warning.

Amare is a legitimate brand with real products, and promoting those products as a Brand Partner is completely permissible. What triggers TikTok's policy is the language of recruitment including content that focuses on building a downline, joining a business opportunity, or earning money by bringing others in. Stay squarely on the product side of that line.

You can promote Amare products as an approved Brand Partner. You CANNOT use your TikTok content to recruit others into the business, promote the income opportunity, or frame Amare as a 'join my team' proposition. Any content that looks like MLM recruitment will be flagged and your account can be deleted.

DON'T Say This (Recruitment Language) DO Say This Instead
'Join my team and earn commissions!' 'I share products I actually use, take a look at my latest video to shop.'
'I'll teach you how to make money with Amare.' 'Here's how I use this product in my daily routine.'
'DM me to learn about the business opportunity.' 'DM me if you have questions about the product — happy to help.'
'You can build passive income promoting these products.' 'I love sharing things that have genuinely worked for me.'
'Be your own boss — sign up under my link!' Focus entirely on product value and your personal experience.

The Practical Rule

Every video you post should be answerable by: 'I'm a brand partner who loves this product and shares it with my audience.' If a video could instead be described as 'I'm recruiting people into a business opportunity,' TikTok's algorithm may suppress it or take it down, even if it doesn't violate any other rule. Keep your content product-first, always.

5.2 — Product & Health Claims

If you're selling wellness, supplement, skincare, or health-adjacent products, this section is critical. The FDA regulates what can and cannot be said about products that affect the body.

The Rule

You may NOT make disease claims with statements that a product treats, cures, prevents, or mitigates any disease or medical condition. You CAN speak to general wellness benefits using pre-approved language only.

DON'T Say This (Disease Claims) DO Say This Instead
'This product cured my anxiety.' 'I've noticed I feel calmer and more focused since I started using it.'
'This cured my joint pain / inflammation.' 'I feel so much more comfortable and mobile — it's made a real difference for me.'
'This product helped me beat cancer / diabetes / [condition].' Never make this type of claim. Do not reference disease treatment under any circumstances.
'This boosts your immune system to fight illness.' 'I love how this supports my overall wellness routine.'
'This product balances your hormones.' 'My energy and mood feel more even since I started using this.'

Always use language from existing Amare product materials. If a customer asks a question you're not sure how to answer, it's okay to say: 'That's a great question. I'd recommend checking with your healthcare provider for personalized advice.' Never make medical recommendations.

5.2b — TikTok's Weight Loss & Body Image Policy

TikTok has specific, enforced restrictions around weight loss content that are stricter than most other platforms. This matters for any Brand Partner promoting wellness, supplement, or nutrition products, even when the products themselves are legitimate.

What TikTok Restricts

  • Content promoting dangerous, restrictive, or medically unproven weight loss methods
  • Before/after body transformation content that may promote unhealthy comparison
  • Weight loss claims targeted at or likely to reach users under 18
  • Any content that TikTok's algorithm identifies as promoting disordered eating behaviors

The under-18 dimension is especially important. TikTok restricts weight loss advertising to users 18 and over, and its algorithm is designed to limit this content's reach to younger audiences. If your content includes weight loss language–even casually–it may be suppressed in reach without any formal violation notice. You won't always know it happened.

DON'T Say or Show This DO Say This Instead
'I lost 20 lbs using this product.' 'I feel so much better since adding this to my routine — more energy, more consistent.'
'This is the fastest way to drop weight.' 'This has been a great complement to my healthy lifestyle.'
Before/after photos focused on body size or weight Before/after framing around energy levels, mood, or daily habits
'Burn fat fast' or 'melt inches' language 'Supports your wellness goals' or 'part of a balanced routine'
Targeting or mentioning teens or young audiences in weight-related content Keep weight/body content audience-neutral and lifestyle-focused

Suppression vs. Removal: Know the Difference

TikTok doesn't always remove policy-adjacent content, sometimes it just stops showing it to people. If a video about a wellness or weight-related product gets unusually low views compared to your normal performance, the algorithm may have quietly limited its reach. This is a signal to reframe the content, not just repost it.

5.3 — FTC Disclosure Rules

As a brand partner earning commissions through Amare, you are legally required to disclose your relationship with the brand whenever you promote their products. This applies to every single piece of content — no exceptions.

  • Add #amarebrandpartner to your video caption or spoken in the video
  • The disclosure must be clear and conspicuous, buried hashtags don't count
  • This requirement applies to LIVE sessions, short videos, and profile links
  • TikTok also has its own creator disclosure toggle — use it

Simple Language That Works

Caption: 'I'm a brand partner for Amare, all opinions are my own. #ad'

In video: use text on screen to show ‘#ad’ or ‘#brandpartner’ or verbally say ‘I earn a commission from qualifying purchases.’

5.4 — Platform Terms of Service

TikTok has its own rules that layer on top of everything above. Key things to know:

  • Products must comply with TikTok Shop's Prohibited and Restricted Products list. We handle this, but it's worth knowing what's on it
  • This is a BIG one: You cannot direct users off-platform to complete a purchase that TikTok Shop can handle
  • Fake reviews, fake testimonials, and manufactured social proof are prohibited
  • Content must be original — do not repost others' content without permission

When In Doubt, Don't Post It

If you're not sure whether something is compliant (a claim, a comparison, a testimonial) don't post it until you feel confident. One non-compliant post isn't worth risking your account or your creator relationship with the brand.

Section 6: Building Your Audience

The Long Game

TikTok Shop is not a get-rich-quick platform. The creators who earn the most consistently are the ones who show up regularly, serve their audience genuinely, and treat every follower like a potential long-term fan, not just a transaction.

Here's what builds an audience over time:

  • Posting consistently (3–5x per week) over months, not days
  • Responding to every comment, especially in the first hour after posting
  • Going LIVE regularly, weekly is ideal
  • Collaborating with other creators in your niche
  • Engaging authentically in the comments of popular content in your space

Content Pillars: What to Talk About

Plan your content around 3–4 recurring themes so you never run out of ideas:

Content Pillar Example Ideas
Product Education Ingredient spotlights, 'how it works' explainers, FAQ responses, usage tips
Personal Story Your 'why,' before/after lifestyle changes, daily routines, real moments
Community & Connection Customer highlights, comment responses, behind-the-scenes content, creator collabs
Lifestyle & Values Health habits, wellness tips, family moments, things you believe in

Converting Followers to Customers

Getting views is great. Getting sales is better. Here's how to bridge that gap:

  • Always include a clear call-to-action such as 'Shop the link below’
  • Use your pinned video to introduce yourself and your products to new visitors
  • Highlight any active promotions or deals during LIVE sessions to create urgency
  • Follow up with people who comment or DM. Don't wait for them to come to you
  • Collect customer testimonials (with permission) and share them as social proof, always with FTC disclosure

Section 7: Tracking Your Results

Metrics That Matter

You don't need to be a data scientist to track your TikTok performance. Focus on these core metrics:

Metric Why It Matters
Video Views Reach:  are people seeing your content?
Watch Time / Completion Rate Quality: are people watching all the way through? (above 50% is strong)
Profile Visits from Video Interest: are viewers curious enough to check you out?
Follower Growth Rate Momentum: are you building an audience over time?
Product Click-Through Rate Purchase intent: are viewers engaging with your shop links?
GMV (Gross Merchandise Value) Total sales value driven by your content which is directly tied to your commission earnings

Monthly Review Checklist

  1. Review your top 3 performing videos — what did they have in common?
  2. Note your worst performers — what can you change or avoid?
  3. Check your follower count week-over-week — is it growing?
  4. Review your GMV — which products are converting best?
  5. Set one specific goal for next month (e.g., go LIVE 4x, post 20 videos)

Quick Reference: Do's and Don'ts

DO DON'T
Use only company-approved product descriptions Create your own health or benefit claims
Disclose your distributor relationship in every post Post promotional content without #amarebrandpartner
Share your authentic personal experience Exaggerate, fabricate, or embellish results
Direct medical questions to healthcare providers Give medical advice or make disease treatment claims
Respond to questions with honesty Guess or improvise compliance-sensitive answers on LIVE
Batch-create content and post consistently Post sporadically or go long periods without activity
Use TikTok's built-in branded content disclosure tool Rely only on buried hashtags for disclosure
